Panama, January 19, 2023 – The Airports Council International Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) announces the arrival to the team of Brigadier Ary Rodrigues Bertolino, who will take up the position of manager of Airport Industry Relations in Brazil and South America.
Brigadier Ary Bertolino has a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Sciences from the Brazilian Air Force Academy and was, for 39 years, a member of the institution, from which he retired in September 2022. Until last year, he held the position of aeronautical advisor to the Brazilian delegation at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in Montreal, Canada, and was the Brazilian Government’s nominee to run for the position of secretary-general of the organization in the last election. For the past 15 years, Brigadier Bertolino has overseen the Caribbean and South America Regional Monitoring Agency (CARSAMMA) and between 2018 and 2022 served as Vice-Chairman of the Caribbean and South America Regional Planning and Enforcement Group (GREPECAS). He has also served as an instructor, strategic advisor, and head of the Department of Institutional Effectiveness at the Inter-American Defense College (IADC) in Washington DC, USA.
“I come to ACI-LAC willing to contribute from my solid experience in civil and military aviation to the consolidation of bridges between this association, which is the representative of airports in the world, and government agencies and other sectors that work for the sustainable development of the airport industry. The objective is to make ACI’s global expertise available to the Brazilian and South American markets, working in close partnership with local institutions,” said Brigadier Ary Bertolino.
“We are pleased to announce that ACI-LAC can count on a professional with broad and diverse experience in the aviation industry as Brigadier Ary Bertolino. We believe he will contribute to strengthening our presence in Brazil, an extremely important market for global air transport, as well as throughout South America,” said Rafael Echevarne, General Director of ACI-LAC.
