Adriana Echandi is the CEO of Morpho Travel Retail, a Britt Group company dedicated to creating unique in-store and in-restaurant experiences in Hotels and Airports, especially in Latin America. Adriana began her professional career in 2001, when Café Britt decided to create a new company to manage the gift stores, starting as a salesperson and quickly promoted as part of the leadership team. Adriana oversaw different internal processes such as training, purchasing, logistics, innovation, e-commerce and the expansion plan to achieve a footprint of 11 countries, 186 locations and over 1600 people. During these 20 years working at Morpho Travel Retail, she has promoted different programs that give local artisans the opportunity to innovate their techniques and tell the stories behind the products and promote the cultural heritage. Adriana is passionate about different countries, cultures and their gastronomy. Married in 2011 and mother of two children aged 8 years and 3 years.

Alejandro Piera is a partner at the Asuncion-based law firm GHP. His areas of practice include transportation law, arbitration, corporate, competition, foreign investment, environment, cross border, information technology, and sports law. Alejandro heads the firm’s aviation, cross-border, environmental law, and international practice. Alejandro leads GHP in acting as the primary external legal services provider for a renown international organization in 43 jurisdictions. On numerous occasions, he has acted as international consultant for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and for various foreign governments.
Alejandro is an arbitrator of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, the Bucharest Ilfov Commercial Arbitration Center (CAIB) and the Paraguayan Chamber of Arbitrators and Mediators (CAMP). Alejandro has also written extensively. In 2015, Eleven International Publishing released his new book titled Greenhouse Gases from International Aviation: Legal and Policy Issues. EASA
Alfonso Arroyo is the EASA’s representative for Latin America and the Caribbean. He joined EASA in June 2022 from the European Commission (DG MOVE) and took office in Panama City where the EASA’s Regional Office is hosted.
The main objective of Alfonso’s engagement is to further strengthen the partnership between EASA and the civil aviation authorities and industry stakeholders in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region. His work on the spot should facilitate an increasing and better mutual understanding of air transport between the EU/EASA and LAC.
Alfonso worked for the European Commission since 1997, having a long experience in international negotiations in the WTO context, antidumping investigations and negotiations of accession of the new ten EU Member States. He started his duties in DG MOVE in 2005 being responsible for the international aspects of the Single European Sky. He’s been working since 2011 on aviation safety where he coordinated in DG MOVE a wide range of activities with EASA, such as technical assistance programming, international strategies, and administrative and budgetary issues
Vinci
Alvaro LEITE has 18 years of airport experience in various roles. Since April 2023, he is the Chief Commercial Officer of OMA, part of VINCI Airports, consisting of 13 airports in Mexico overseeing all income generation, the efficient implementation of the defined commercial business and strategic plan and accountable for all commercial regulated and non-regulated revenues streams. He is also a Board Member of some the company business units, actively participating in the strategy and development of these assets.
Previously, in July 2021, he was named Aviation Development Director at VINCI Airports HQ, in Paris, responsible for the supervision of traffic development (passenger, cargo and business aviation) and the identification of opportunities to increase and stimulate the aeronautical revenues of the 72 airports of the network, located in 13 different countries. At a very challenging time for aviation, a significant part of his duties consisted in making sure that the airports of the network will rebound and recover 2019’s traffic levels faster than the competition. At the same time, his department is responsible for all the aeronautical revenues and traffic forecasting for the airport tenders that VINCI Airports bids on. He is also a Board Member of Guanacaste Airport, Costa Rica, actively participating in the strategic decisions of the asset and its development.

Amilcar joined IATA in January 2022, he holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad Francisco de Vittoria from Madrid Spain.
With more than 25 years of experience in the civil aviation sector, Amilcar started his career in civil aviation as an Aviation Security Supervisor at TACA International Airlines, where he held different leadership positions becoming General Security Director. Before joining IATA, Amilcar was responsible for the Security Operations in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, as well as Authorities’ relationships in the USA for AVIANCA Airlines with a base in Miami.
Among his objectives is the promotion of IATA’s and its member airlines’ Security and Facilitation agendas, including the collaboration with government entities to support the shaping of the regulatory framework, improve security performance through effective risk management and risk-based regulations, and enhance information sharing. Lastly, Amilcar engages with airports and regulatory bodies regarding facilitation initiatives in the region including the use of new technologies to enhance the travel experience.
Migration Aruba
Andrew has devoted 19 years to the Aruban Police Force. He has grown through the ranks, beginning his career in 2001 as a cadet, until his appointment as Chief of Police. Between 2009 and 2011, Andrew attended the National Police Academy in the Netherlands, where he also gained police work experience in various cities and towns in the Netherlands. Following his appointment as Chief of Police in 2018, Andrew became a member of the regional board of Chiefs of Police within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and subsequently a member of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police. During his time as Chief, Andrew has instilled pride and a high level of integrity among his personnel. Which has led other international agencies lay their trust on the Aruban Police Force to be a reliable law enforcement partner in the fight against drug trafficking.
In October of 2020, on request of the Minister of Justice, Andrew was reassigned to intervene and take over leadership of the Aruban Fire Department. During the 6 months of assignment, Andrew’s intervention resulted in restructuring the top management layer and set in motion a strategic plan for the acquisition of new fire/ rescue equipment and a new fire truck. Andrew played a key role in settling labor disputes between the union representing the firemen, and the government.
Next, on request of the Minister of Justice, on April 2021, Andrew was reassigned to take charge of the Aruban Immigration department, where three unions were threatening disrupt work and jeopardize the Aruban tourism by having the immigration officers go on strike. Swift intervention and tactful negotiations resulted in a more efficient and content immigration department. Andrew has also managed to liaise with the Dutch military police to work side by side with immigration authorities to boost border security.

Arturo Barreira was appointed President of Airbus Latin America and Caribbean Region in July 2018, bringing more than 25 years of global aviation leadership experience to the post. In this capacity, Arturo is responsible for all Airbus’ commercial activities and customer relations in over 40 countries, for the three Airbus divisions, Commercial Aircraft, Defence and Space and Helicopters.
As a leading member of the Latin America and Caribbean Sales Team that has booked record-breaking orders for the last 10 years, Barreira has driven the success of Airbus’ regional commercial aviation sales division, cementing its place as the market leader in the region. In 2012, Arturo was appointed Vice President of Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean, responsible for building relationships with potential customers, generating and tracking purchase orders and placement of aircraft with local airlines in the region. He previously held the position of Regional Sales Director since 2005.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Arturo received a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos de la Universidad Politécnica and a master’s degree in business administration from ICADE Instituto de Postgrado de la Universidad Pontifícia Comillas.
Arturo began his career in 1996 at the airport operator AENA (Spanish Airports and Air Navigation) in the area of Corporate Development. A year later he joined Airbus as Customer Marketing Manager for Western Europe. In 2002 he became Senior Financial Risk Manager. From 2003 to 2005 he took over as Marketing Director for Airbus in the Middle East.
Arturo continues to grow in his career and has attended various air transport courses at Cranfield University in London and IATA Learning Center in Geneva.
Arturo is married and has a daughter. He speaks fluent Spanish, English, French and Portuguese. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, playing golf and soccer, and loves to travel and read.

In her role, Mrs. Nicolich focused on the importance of accessibility in Airports and a barrier-free experience for customers leading Carrasco Intl. Airport to reach the AEA, being the first airport in the ACI-LAC region reaching this recognition.

Ms. Royes is the Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary for MBJ Airports Limited, the operator of the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
As the sole in-house lawyer for the leading gateway to Jamaica and a member of the Executive Leadership team, she actively provides support to the Airport on an extensive range of contractual, commercial, regulatory, financing and other transactional matters. She is committed to fairly and equitably protecting the Airport’s interests and advancing its corporate goals. Ms. Royes is also a founding director of the MBJ Airport Foundation, the Airport’s CSR vehicle.

Carlos Ozores is Vice President of ICF, a global advisory and digital services firm, and leads the company’s Aviation consulting group in the Americas. Carlos is an air transport specialist with more than 21 years in aviation strategy and business planning. He advises senior management of airlines and airport operators with strategic planning. He brings a broad exposure to all facets of aviation, and his expertise includes a diverse range of topics, from network planning and alliances to ground operations and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Carlos has also worked across all world regions, and is a recognized expert in Latin American aviation. Prior to joining ICF, Carlos worked in revenue management/pricing at American Airlines and Air France. He has an Executive MBA from IE Business School in Spain and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.
Dr. Charles E. Schlumberger, a Swiss national, is the Lead Air Transport Specialist of the World Bank in Washington DC. In this function he is responsible for the Bank’s policy and development priorities in the field of air transportation. He supervises or participates directly in several air transport projects globally, which range from air transport infrastructure financing, air carrier restructuring and/or privatization, air transport safety and security projects, and air transport policy advice to governments.
Prior to his appointment to the World Bank in 1998, Dr. Schlumberger has held the position of Vice-President at Union Bank of Switzerland, responsible for international credit restructuring. Prior to his activities in financial institutions, he was the CEO of a Logistics and Transport Group in France, and worked as a lawyer on aviation related matters in Switzerland.
Dr. Schlumberger graduated in 1986 with a Law Degree from Basel Law School, focusing on Aviation Law and Bankruptcy Procedures. He further holds an MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston, USA, and received a degree of Doctor of Civil Law from the Institute of Air and Space Law of McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is also an active FAA and EASA licensed pilot and certified flight instructor, and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Up to 14 July 2023, Mr. Barks was the Director of Global Strategy and Mission Support in the Federal Aviation Administration’s Office of International Affairs in Washington, DC. He was responsible for leading the development of a data-informed, agency-wide strategy and measurable business plan targets for FAA global engagement. Prior to this, Mr. Barks was the Manager for ICAO and Global Affairs, leading the team that coordinated U.S. Government positions on ICAO matters and overseeing a Crisis Response Working Group that addressed risk to airlines in conflict zones. In this capacity, he participated in the Council Aviation Recovery Task Force (CART), contributing to the development of guidance to the aviation industry to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. From 2013 to 2019, Mr. Barks served as the Director of the FAA’s Western Hemisphere region. Based in the U.S. Embassy in Panama, he led FAA Senior Representatives in Miami, Panama, and Brazil and a staff in Washington D.C. to coordinate all FAA international activities with partners in the Americas and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining the Western Hemisphere office, Mr. Barks served from 2008-2011 as the FAA Senior Representative in Brussels, responsible for FAA relationships with EU Institutions and agencies, and with Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. From 2005-2008, he was the FAA Senior Representative to Northern Europe, based at the U.S. Embassy in London. Mr. Barks joined the FAA in 1997, holding positions in the Office of International Aviation and in the Flight Standards Service. Mr. Barks received a Master of Arts in German and European Studies from Georgetown University in 1997 and Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Relations and German Studies from the University of Minnesota in 1993. He is fluent in Spanish (having lived for 17 years in Latin America), German, and has basic knowledge of Portuguese and French. Eliseo developed his professional career for more than 20 years in the office located at Palma de Mallorca (Spain), where he participated in the advisory of tourism and aviation for both the public and private sector. In 2017 started his career in Latin-American, moving to Chile and leading aviation practice in South America and now is located in Panama, leading aviation in Latin-America.
Serves as the director of Business Development at AERIS since 2014, where he leads commercial development, attraction and relationships with airlines and routes for the Juan Santamaría International Airport, in conjunction with the Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (Costa Rican Tourism Institute).
He is also an active member of ACI-LAC in its Commercial and Economic Sub-committee and in the Cargo Sub-committee.

Jared Harckham’ s expertise is drawn from 35 years in aviation, travel and tourism, first as a senior airline planner and more recently as a consultant.
Since joining ICF, via SH&E, Jared has directed client projects for airports, airlines and tourism entities.

Mr Vanegas also worked in EADS-CASA (currently Airbus Military) in Madrid, Spain; the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, JFK Int. Jessica Marin-Urrea is the Miami International Airport (MIA) Innovation Chief responsible for overseeing the airports customer experience innovation programs and initiatives, as well as tasked with assisting the development of an innovation and passenger satisfaction focused culture at MIA. In her previous roles Jessica was a project manager for operations, airline relations liaison, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator. Randy Pestana serves as Associate Director for Cybersecurity Policy at the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy and the Director of Education and Training at Cybersecurity@FIU. Ralph Cutié is the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Miami- Dade Aviation Department. He oversees operations at Miami International Airport (MIA) and four general aviation (GA) airports in the Miami area, which together generate $31.9 billion in business revenue and support more than 275,000 direct and indirect jobs. MIA leads the way, handling more than 50 million passengers and more than 2.7 million tons of cargo annually, placing it among America’s busiest busiest international passenger and cargo airports.
Previously, Mr. Cutié served as Assistant Director for Facilities Management and Engineering, overseeing the largest and most diverse division within the Aviation Department, comprised of more than 440 employees, an annual operating budget of nearly $123 million and a reserve maintenance budget of $30 million.
Mr. Cutié is a 32-year County veteran with over 35 years of experience in the fields of project control, critical path method (CPM) scheduling, project management, construction contracting and construction claims administration. He began his County career in 1990 with the Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) Department as a Cost and Scheduling Specialist, later advancing to Manager of MDT’s Engineering Cost and Scheduling Section, and ultimately, to Chief of MDT’s Project Control Division.
Mr. Cutié worked extensively in various capacities on numerous MDT projects of significance, including the $248 million Metromover Extension Project, the $88 million Metrorail Extension to the Palmetto Expressway and the $106 million Busway Extension to Florida City. In 2006, Mr. Cutié transitioned to the Office of Capital Improvements (OCI), where he served as the Manager of Project Scheduling and Compliance for the County’s $2.9 billion Building Better Communities – General Obligation Bond (BBC-GOB) Program, and where he also managed the County’s successful Economic Stimulus Plan (ESP), Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) and Construction Manager (CM) Training programs. In 2011, subsequent to OCI’s consolidation into the newly-established Internal Services Department (ISD), Mr. Cutié served as Manager of Project Scheduling and Compliance in ISD’s Design and Construction Services Division, where he was involved in numerous large ISD projects while continuing to manage the County’s ESP, MCC and CM Training programs. Also, during his tenure at OCI and ISD, Mr. Cutié collaborated with the County Attorney’s Office and the County’s various capital departments to develop the Standard Construction Contract, which was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in November 2012 as the standard for all non-MCC construction projects countywide. Mr. Cutié has also served as the County’s corporate representative during the resolution of various construction claims and as a hearing officer for numerous construction disputes.
Mr. Cutié obtained his degree in construction management from Florida International University in 1989. He possesses numerous certificates in scheduling, project management design-build and claims administration from the National Transit Institute and served as an instructor in the County’s Construction Manager Training Program – specifically in the areas of project scheduling, project documentation and construction claims and disputes. Shannetta R. Griffin, P.E., was appointed Associate Administrator of Airports for the Federal Aviation Administration on June 7, 2021, by U.S. President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. Griffin has more than 35 years of experience as a professional engineer and small business advocate within the private and public sectors of the transportation industry with an emphasis on aviation. She is a leader with expertise in operational performance, project engineering and client relationship management.
She leads a team of more than 600 employees around the country and manages an annual budget of $3.35 billion, which includes an operating budget of about $112 million. She is responsible for the Airport Improvement Program grants, which total around $8 billion annually, as well as two major research programs. She is also responsible for administering national airport safety and standards, planning, engineering, environmental processing, financial assistance and compliance programs for more than 3,300 public-use airports nationwide.
Prior to joining the FAA, Griffin served as the Chief Commercial Officer for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. She managed the authority’s revenue generation from parking and ground transportation, air service development, concessions, land development, real estate and cargo development.
Griffin has been responsible, for multiple capital improvement programs in both the private and public sectors of the aviation industry where she was responsible for billions of dollars and economic growth for commercial revenue with concessions, car rentals, airlines, cargo and land development. Prior joining to TAV Technologies Aytan oversaw Sales and Account Management at Amadeus since 2011. Aytan has a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, and Management from Nice University, followed by an M.B.A. degree in Sales and Marketing.

Raúl Revuelta Musalem, is currently the CEO of the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, He has more than 20 years of experience in the infrastructure sector and is an expert in the airport sector. From 2005 to 2015, he worked at Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), serving as CFO and Commercial Director. During his professional career, he has also served as General Director of Cross Border Xpress (CBX) and as Deputy Director of Finance of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT).
In his six years as Deputy Director of the SCT, he has participated in different privatization processes in the transportation sector, obtaining extensive experience in federal concessions. He has a degree in economics from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).
